SportsCycle is a local marketplace for San Francisco students and families to donate, receive, or trade lightly used sports equipment. The platform is run by a small student-led team, and we take your privacy seriously.

When you sign in, create an account, donate an item, or request an item, we may collect:

• Your name, email address, and neighborhood.
• Photos and descriptions of items you donate.
• Contact details such as phone number and address, which you provide to help coordinate pickups.
• Messages or notes you send to the SportsCycle admin or about an item.

How we use your information

We use your information only to operate the marketplace: displaying listings, matching donors with requesters, coordinating handoffs, and communicating with you about your donations or requests. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

What is public vs. private

Item listings (title, category, condition, description, neighborhood, and photo) are publicly visible so people can browse available gear. Your contact information, pickup address, phone number, and private notes are only visible to SportsCycle admins and are never shown publicly.

Photos and storage

Item photos are stored securely and served through short-lived, signed links. They are not directly accessible to anyone outside the SportsCycle platform.

Messages and communication

If you contact us through the site, we may reply to the email address you provide. Admin messages related to donations or requests are kept private and only visible to the admin team.

Your choices
